Overview

Rain Roofing does commercial and industrial flat roofing across the Edmonton region. Most of the area's industrial space sits in a ring around the city: the northwest districts along Hwy 16, Acheson to the west, Nisku and Leduc to the south near the airport, and Alberta's Industrial Heartland to the northeast around Fort Saskatchewan. That is where most of our work is.

Each area has its own building stock and its own weather history. Acheson is mostly new construction. Nisku is shops and yards. Spruce Grove and Stony Plain sat in the path of the 2019 hailstorm. The pages below cover what matters in each.

Where we work

Our main service areas are listed below. If your building is outside them, call anyway: larger projects and existing clients are often covered further afield.

  • Edmonton, including the northwest industrial districts (Mistatim, Winterburn, the Hwy 16 corridor) and the southeast (Strathcona Industrial Park, Davies).
  • Nisku and Leduc, including Nisku Business Park near the airport.
  • Acheson in Parkland County, one of the fastest-growing industrial areas in Western Canada.
  • Fort Saskatchewan and Alberta's Industrial Heartland.
  • Sherwood Park and Strathcona County.
  • St. Albert.
  • Spruce Grove and Stony Plain.

Flat roofing that suits the whole region

The weather doesn't change much across the region, and neither do the basics: long winters, sustained snow load, freeze-thaw at seams and drains, spring ponding and summer hail. 2-ply SBS is the workhorse system for that reason, with TPO, EPDM and PVC where the building calls for them. What changes from one area to the next is the building stock, the owners and the access rules, and that shapes how we plan each job.

Planning jobs outside the city

Distance changes the logistics, not the standard of work. On projects outside Edmonton we plan material deliveries and crane bookings so crews aren't waiting on trucks, keep a service vehicle stocked with repair materials on longer jobs, and give you one contact for the whole project. Industrial sites in the Heartland and Nisku add orientations and permits, which we schedule before the start date so the first day on site is a working day.
